Born in Sweida, Syria in 1983, Houssam Ballan received his BA in Fine Arts from the University of Damascus in 2005. After his graduation he took part in workshops with the American artist and photographer J. Bradley Adams, French artist Pierre Palas and Spanish artist Jose Freixanes. Ballan combines his skills in calligraphy, sculpture and painting into multidisciplinary works. These have been featured in a number of collective exhibitions and auctions around the world.
