About the Artist
Rachel Hellerich
Rachel Hellerich's work is based on color theory and geometric abstraction with an emphasis on Precisionism. She earned a Post-Baccalaureate certificate from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2004) and has exhibited extensively in the greater New York area, most recently at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. “Through a language that combines biomorphic forms with hard-edge abstraction, my work challenges the dimensions of both a relative physical world and one that feels otherworldly. Deriving much of my inspiration from the sea, natural phenomena and geologic formations, I produce what can be interpreted as tangible dreamscapes.”
