Mamiko Matsuura (松浦 麻美子)

Japanese

Artist from Chiba Prefecture. Mamiko has loved drawing since her childhood, but when she lost confidence in her drawing ability, she enrolled in an art class, where she gained experience in completing a single picture on her own. From there, she decided to continue her studies in earnest, determined to become an independent artist. Her goal is to continue to create paintings that relax and inspire the viewer. She also challenges herself to learn about the beauty of Japan (tea ceremony rooms, Japanese painting, and pottery, etc.) and reflect it in her paintings in terms of composition and matiere. Influenced Artists: Chardin, Cézanne, Redon, Van Gogh, Matisse, Braque, Nicolas de Staal, Helen Frankenthaler.
